PRODUCT INFORMATION

Our furniture products are constructed from quality New Zealand timbers milled from renewable resource forests and contain the best available componentry, superior cushioning materials and premium quality fabrics and leathers.

DIMENSIONS
Measurements are to extreme length, width, height and depth including cushions protruding past frames. Obviously with sofa cushions and foam upholstery these measurements can vary 50-100mm. We reserve the right to change measurements from time to time. If space or dimensions are crucial contact us before manufacturing commences as in many cases we are able to alter the size to meet individual requirements.
Seat height can only be taken as an indication since different fills give more than others when sat on.

FRAMES
Our frames are made with solid pine, which is no way inferior to those made with the traditional hardwoods. All frames are stapled, glued and corner blocked to ensure strength and longevity.

SUSPENSION
In most cases we use Furniweb Gold Label webbing which has different specifications for seat use and back use. This product carries a 10 year guarantee against losing it’s elasticity when used under normal conditions. In some furniture we use metal no sag springs or metal tension springs.

FRAME PADDING
Tetron or foam padding is used wherever necessary to ensure fabric is protected from abrasive action against the
wooden frame.

BACK CUSHIONS
These cushions are either soft foam wrapped in Tetron, laminated foam, or filled with teased polyester enclosed in an inner cover. The current market requires a soft feel in the backs, however this teased polyester can compress over time and requires a regular shaking to redistribute the polyester.

SEAT CUSHIONS
The majority of seat cushions are high resilient foam wrapped in Tetron. Foam seats are a contentious issue with the customer usually preferring a soft feel but with sufficient support beneath the knees. New foam will soften by up to 20% over time and it is advisable to begin with a seat cushion on the firmer side. In some cases Duraloft or feather and foam mixtures are used.

SCATTER CUSHIONS
These are filled with teased polyester or feather enclosed in an inner cover. They are filled to a level that ensures
comfort however the filling can compress over time and the cushions require a regular shaking to puff them out.

FABRICS
Fabrics used are guaranteed by the fabric house to be of the highest quality for their particular use. Choosing the
correct fabric for the intended use is important. It must be pointed out that all fabric stretches a little and this is normal. Fabric fades if in strong light and with the high UV level in New Zealand care has to be taken to avoid this light source.

BED-SETTEES
In general it is not possible to achieve the overall comfort in a sofa when a bed mechanism is used. This is because the customer is sitting on a folded up bed mechanism instead of the usual suspension system, be it webbing or springs. Some noise is normal when sitting on bed settees because of the mechanism parts moving.

GUARANTEES
All our products carry either a five or ten year guarantee covering workmanship and construction. Suppliers of
componentry such as foam, fabric and bed mechanisms carry their own guarantee/warranty for their products, which means our guarantee does not apply.

GENERAL
Lounge furniture is an important part of our every day life and is constructed to ensure comfort while sitting in a
relaxed style. Since every lounge suite is essentially a strong frame with various layers of foam and fabric it must be regularly cleaned and looked after. Vacuuming and turning the seat cushions over regularly will ensure longer life for the fabric and foam inner. Fluffing up the back cushions will help keep the teased fibre correctly distributed and the cushions looking their best.
